Sid’s Diner Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This trip to the El Reno location of Sid's was the result of having seen a "Man vs. Food" episode covering the OKC area. The episode featured Sid's famous "Onion Burger", supposedly the original out here in these parts (there are numerous "Imitators" in the area, or so I'm told). As a lover of both onions and burgers, I decided I had to make the drive. Sid's bright red and stark black facade is fairly easy to find, and it sits on a fairly major road just a couple of miles off of the Interstate: the historical Route 66. Stepping inside is like stepping back in time. This is truly a small town diner, or perhaps a dive, depending on your point of view. There are some old newspaper clippings and magazine articles adorning the walls, and historical pictures epoxied to the tables. You get a very "hometown feel" here. There is seating for maybe twelve or fourteen at the four tables and booths; and room for eight or nine more at the counter. I was surprised to see six employees on duty, considering the small size of the restaurant. One cook, two or three that appeared to be servers, and a busboy or two. Most were pretty young, early to mid-teens I would guess, except for the cook. He was perhaps in his early twenties, but he didn't seem to be in charge or much interested in the others activities. I say this only as the lack of adult supervision on this night resulted in the to-be- expected goofing around and somewhat inattentive spotty service. I was in the mood for an onion burger, so of course that's what I got. I ordered a regular burger, a half-order of onion rings, and a chocolate shake. A moment after ordering, I noticed a combo (burger and a shake for $5.65), on the menu. As this was basically what I ordered, I asked the waitress if I could make the change and making it with the larger "King" burger. She said "Yes", and informed the cook. She said it would be a "little bit more" for the larger burger. "50 cents". Fair enough. Soon afterwards, my shake arrived. Although not hand-dipped, it was not pre-mixed either. Soft serve in an old-fashioned stainless steel cup with a shot of chocolate and off to the mixer! There was more shake than could be held by the glass, so, just like in the days of old, I also got the mixing cup with another half-glass worth of shake inside. The shake was great. You can also order any shake as a malt, which I would have, had I seen that those too were available. My loss, especially as they are the same price. The cook was very fast and efficient, not partaking of the horseplay like the rest of the staff. I could see my order was ready, and after several minutes of trying to get my waitresses attention (she was talking to friends at a nearby table), I pointed to and got my food. The onion rings were very good, being crispy and flavorful. There was also a generous amount of them, especially for a half-order. The burger, a double patty affair mashed atop a stack of grilled onion, was topped with enough lettuce to make a small side salad. It also had a slice of tomato, and a piece of nicely melted American cheese nestled in between. It looked just as one would imagine an Oklahoma "Onion Burger" would look like. This came on a traditional grilled soft white bun, and was accompanied by a few dill pickle chips. I had it with only mustard and the pickles, which they say is the "classic Oklahoman way" to have it. The burger was well seasoned, and the onions were nicely grilled. If one were to define small town comfort "diner food", this burger would be the picture on that page. Overall, it was OK. I don't think I would make the trip back just for this, however. The employee behavior was distracting, although not to the point of being objectionable; this is just how unsupervised teens behave. The food was fine for this forum. One thing of note, I was not presented a bill at the register, just a total. As there was another customer waiting behind me, I didn't take the time to scrutinize the total, which came to almost $11.00. Looking back, it appears that I was moderately overcharged. $6.15 for the combo (counting the extra charge to be upgraded to a King) and maybe $2.00 for the 1/2 order of onion rings (a full order is $2.90, so $2.00 would seem about right), should have been less than $9.00 including tax. A mistake? I would like to think so. Oh yeah, one final thing: watch out for the "You dropped a quarter" gag they pull on you when you pay. It's a tradition here I suppose, and a pretty cute trick. I won't say what the "gotcha" is on that one, you'll just have to go and find that out for yourself!

Sid's is the best diner in the El Reno!!! I always order an onion burger, a coney with slaw, fresh cut fries and a vanilla milkshake. They also have a great breakfast. It is such a friendly atmosphere and they have old pictures on the tables and walls to look at, which makes you feel like part of the family. Sid's brother and son are usually in front of the grill and will come over and say hello. Make sure you tell them where you are from. They have a map of the US and they will make sure to mark where you are from. Closed on Sundays and Cash only.

Walked in and was greeted by the friendly staff right away. I was planning on getting the food to go since I was on the road traveling but Bob, the cook, insisted I sit down at the diner. Told him I was out of town and he recommended I try the burger, fries and coney. They were all outstanding, seriously, the food is cooked with a lot of care and you can definitely taste it. What I really appreciated was the friendly conversation I got along with the meal. Everyone in there is really friendly, which is nice for an out-of-towner like myself. If I'm ever on I-40 again, I will certainly take the El Reno exit and get a meal at this place. I recommend everyone do the same.

Sid's Diner - El Reno, OK Though which of the original onion-fried burger proprietors is the most authentic is a hotly debated subject among locals of this frontier hamlet, one thing is clear: El Reno deserves it's rightful place among the culinary "must-stops" along America's roadways. For those that know, the onion fried burger, coney (with slaw) and peel-on fries comprise a holy trinity of mouth watering bliss. This is literally comfort food gospel. The burgers are prepared by starting with a ball of ground beef. This is covered with a mound of sliced onions that's twice the mass of the meat. With several whacks of the spatula, the paper-thin onion slices are infused into the meat patties and meld into a gooey whole. Buns are placed atop the patty while grilling to absorb any juices that get away. The coneys are slender pink hot dogs covered with chili sauce and a local trademark slaw that has a sweet/sour interplay, incorporating notes of mustard, vinegar and sugar. Fries are freshly cut from skin-on spuds and are served hot. Milk shakes start out as real ice cream, not as the tasteless ice milk glop typical of the national burger chains. For travelers just passing through, I implore you to get a dozen "onion-frieds" to go after your meal proper (they freeze and reheat surprisingly well). See how long you can resist the aromatic perfume emanating from the bag before you partake of another, and another, while they're still warm. In this writer's opinion, relative latecomer Sid's slightly edges out the other burger stands, but that's hair-splitting. All of the four local burger stands deliver the goods in the time-honored tradition of El Reno burgers past. It's the unlikeliest of epicurian highlights of any cross-country trip. Months ahead of time, I eagerly anticipate my pilgrimages back here from 1300 miles away. Yes, Virginia, it's THAT good! Don't miss!

While others worshiped this quaint diner's famous onion burger, I was a bit less impressed. It was a ,solid burger but not worth a road trip. The fries were crispy and very tasty, and a very large portion. Perhaps, if I was ever in the area, I would have the coney dog w/the sweet slaw and chili. We had a sample of the topping that was unique to these parts. The coolest part of this experience was the service and attention from the owner's wife. She was very engaging and happy to share the whole Sid's history with us. She had us sign a guest book and showed us pictures and articles about the place. Sid's is a throw back diner experience that must be experienced if you are driving through El Reno.

I made a road trip to El Reno to try an onion burger. Sid's was the one. I arrived shortly after 12:30 and took a seat at the counter right in front of the grill. The locals were in the midst of lunch and I was greeted warmly by the counterman. The aroma of cooking onions filled the air as I ordered a King burger with everything and an order of fries. The chef took a ball of ground beef and smashed it flat on the grill and then took a handful of sliced onion and smashed these on top of the meat. After sizzling for several minutes the onion-side was flipped to allow them to cook on the grill. Several more minutes and I watched as the burger was assembled. Finally, everything was ready and placed in front of me. Onion burger delight! The taste of the grilled onion did not overpower the beef flavor, in fact they enhanced it. I must admit that the burger was a little messy, but that added to the experience. It was almost more than I could eat, but I managed to clean my plate. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to El Reno and I'll be back to try another onion burger, or perhaps one of the famous coneys.

Great food, huge portions (one serving of fries is good for 3 people, the shakes cover 2 glasses), great prices, very nice staff. Definitely worth a visit if you want a good local diner experience. The menu is limited but who doesn't love a burger, shake and fries?

We hadn't ate at Sid's Diner & we had lived here for a long time. Till we saw it on Man vs Food, we had to check them out. We'll even though the onion burgers are good, Johnnie's & Robert's had them beat for the flavor. They've been making the burgers a lot longer, & the grills are seasoned better. That's really the only difference. So check Sid's out too, there are 4 wonderful burger places in El Reno including Jobe's that needs great recognition. Try all 4!

My new favorite restaurant in Oklahoma. The burger, fries, and atmosphere were just amazing. We saw this place on tv and thought it was worth a try. Not only was it worth it, but there owner actually works there on normal days. He isn't there only for the tv, he made our burgers. A must go.

Sid's is the genuine article - a classic Oklahoma fried onion burger joint. Yes, there's more on the menu than Fried Onion Burgers, but they're there for the locals in case they get bored. A nice touch is that these folks recognize that coneys are a side and suggestive sell them as such. The fries and rings are good too. The star of the show, though, is the onion burger...served plain on the bun (lettuce and tomatoes are rabbit food, although you can get them if you really need that kind of stuff). Throw a little mustard on there (this IS Oklahoma, after all) and enjoy. The effect is somewhere between a home made backyard burger and a White Castle burger blown up 400%. Apparently, the guy behind the grill (not Sid, btw), learned his craft at Johnnies (sp?), El Reno's other onion burger joint. But where Johnnies is a little scary on the outside, Sid's says "Come on In!". On the inside, you'll find a counter, a cramped dining room and lot of folks enjoying the food. Decor is pretty limited...photos of family, friends and community, with some Americana sprinkled about. The menu's on the wall and the Freedom Fries and Freedom Toast tells you it's probably not safe to discuss your great love for Hillary 'round these parts. Other than that, you can't help but feel the typical OK friendliness.

Love these onion burgers. The best in Oklahoma! We've traveled from OKC to eat here a couple of times. Worth your drive from anywhere in the state. The restaurant is small and quaint. The staff is warm and friendly, whether your from out of town or a local. Going to have to try their breakfast sometime.

A-mazing. The husband has been dying to try some type of onion burger each time we've been to Oklahoma, but we never have until now. We found Sid's through roadtripper.com , but apparently we were the only ones who hadn't head about it before. It has been on TV a few times and I know why! I ordered a vanilla shake, regular onion burger (with cheese/no lettuce or tomato) and the tator tots. Husband got the king burger (with cheese/lettuce/tomato). Food was incredible. I'm not normally a big onion fan (love rings, but hate them on salad), but this burger was awesome. It faintly reminded me of White Castle.. very greasy, but much bigger. The tator tots were just okay, but the shake was excellent. The diner itself is pretty tiny, but overflowing with family photos, El Reno history and custom knickknacks. We sat the bar and it was a fun experience. We would 100% stop here again and definitely worth a drive.

WOW...it was great!! We weren't impressed with the onion rings (too much batter and the onion seemed to disappear). So we ordered the fries...soooo good. We took the back roads from San Antonio to Hutchinson, KS and glad YELP led us to Sid's Diner. It seems the whole town goes there for lunch...packed like sardines to say the least. Too bad it was a cold day...lots of outdoor seating. Had the burger with LOTS of onions and chocolate shake. OH SO GOOD!

There are a few places I have been to where I have said this is the best I have ever eaten, this is one of them, the best onion burger I have eaten. The way they cook the meat with the onions is masterful. Can't be beat, makes me want it NOW. Pops ordered the chili cheese frankfurter and loved it.The only I mean only downside is that it's a cash only place.

By far the best onion burger there is! I love this place, and am sad I only get to venture to it once a year. Hands down, the best chocolate malt shake I have ever had. Make sure you come with an empty stomach. The service is fast and efficient, you can sit at the bar and watch your food be made. I got the pleasure of meeting Sid's son, who made my burger. I had originally heard about this place on the food network, but by looking at it, you would never expect it to be so good!

This is a great small town divey diner...onion burgers are a great oklahoma tradition, and the fries are great (1/2 order feeds 2) its busy but its mostly locals and it has that great friendly small town feel....Great Place!!! I live in Dallas and this was my 1st lunch stop on a 3800 mile trip to yellowstone, grand tetons...etc. (I am yelping the whole trip)

I couldn't eat 'DINER FARE' everyday. But as far as a road-trip, destination dive, local hangout., THIS PLACE ROCKS! I arrived and it was so crowded it was standing room only...within a few moments space began to clear, and in NO TIME AT ALL, there were seats right at the bar for us. (our order had already been placed,) within minutes the order appeared before us. Burgers were filling and Generous. The fries were fresh and hot. The Coffee Malt was tasty and refreshing. Guess what? They even had free birthday cake for their guests because they were celebrating 25 years in service at that very location! These days you won't last 6 months in the food industry unless your food SOARS!

Went here again last week. Different cook, but even better food than my first visit. I ordered the King burger. The onions are cooked in such a way to become part of the meat pattie. Don't bother trying to pick it up, just get out your fork and start eating. 1/2 order of fries is plenty for anyone. Excellent, personal and friendly service.

Decided to check this place out as we were driving through OK and once my husband said Adam Richman went, I was in. (I have a little bit of a crush on Adam but it's okay, my husband knows!). Easy to get to off the interstate and super friendly girls working. The owner/cook thanked us for coming in and checked that everything tasted good. The place was packed with locals and tourists alike and had a cool vibe. The only reason it's not a 5 star is cuz I have had better diner burgers but these ain't bad at all and their fries are yummy!

I grew up in El Reno, and I went here every week. Whenever I'm in Oklahoma, I have to make the trip to eat here. My regular order is a fried onion cheeseburger, a coney, and fries. If you're really hungry, they also have old-fashioned style shakes that are amazing. Plan on sharing the fries, because it comes in a huge order. I also love the breakfast here. Biscuits with sausage gravy, eggs any style, and bacon. Mmmmm! This place isn't too big on the health food, but if you like a classic greasy-spoon joint, you'll love this place!

We stopped here on our road trip down Old Route 66. The adults had burgers and the kids had hot dogs. We left full and happy. Of course we had to end the meal with a shake, which was large enough to share. It was a great meal for a great value and we will go back if we are in the hood again! We also met the owner, who's father was Sid. He was warm and friendly as we're all of the staff! We highly recommend this little memory of '66.

I definitely recommend doing a double patty fried onion burger with everything on it, including the fried jalapeño slices! Frying them along with the onions until crispy, makes the burger extra delicious! Again my mistake was going single patty! Sat at the bar top and received great, fast service. Shared the fries and it was a good thing we did. Milkshake was delicious and enough for 2 people to share. Took home a slice of the ultimate chocolate cake and was not too impressed with it. The cake portion was bland and sad. Otherwise a great burger joint worth stopping in for!

ok this is kinda funny but i went here over a year ago during a cross country road trip - didn't review but was reminded of it when I saw them mentioned in this months' Southern Living magazine. We went here - funky little spot sorta in the middle of nowhere - but famous for their grilled onion burgers. And so of course we had to have one. They were interesting as I was expected grilled onions on top but instead they are imbedded in the burger itself before it is cooked. It was quite wonderful! Try it, you'll like it!!!

If you're on a road trip through OK, stop here! Awesome food!! Super friendly and family run business. They had a cool military wall with photos and when I asked about it, the owner gave me my whole bill free because I am a Marine. Burgers are 5 star - in New Jersey we have White Manna which has been featured on food network and gets rated as top ten burger in America - I would rate Sids comparable. Great bun. Cheese and onion distribution is perfect. And patty is also great. Malt was great and they even give you the extra. Fries were fresh. If it wasn't in the middle of nowhere, I'd go out of my way to go back.

I had seen this diner on Roadside America and was particularly interested in stopping after learning it was on Man vs. Food. We squeezed into 2 open seats at the bar. The place was full when we arrived in the late afternoon. I ordered the onion burger and my husband got a double. We shared cheese fries (the order was HUGE and we barely made a dent in it). The place is cash only so be prepared. I think they take check but I'm not sure about out-of-town checks? It was good as expected from a diner. It was not anything better than I expected a diner burger to taste like. You better like it because you will taste it for many hours after you've moved on.

This was the best diner experience I have ever had! Amazing real burgers! Great large size fries! Excellent milkshakes! It is a classic diner experience. Better than average. So YUM! I will go out of my way to come back here as frequently as possible. I'm going to be craving it daily.

Stopped in here on my way from Las Vegas to Michigan, and the cozy seating allowed for interaction with other patrons and the busy working staff. I have never had a burger without a bun, and this was fantastic! The onions made the perfect fusion between the beef, and I was glad that I visited here to see the last of the small town Americana food establishments still in existence. Large wall of military photos from customers who served, and another large global map to put a pin of where you live to show how many around the world have visited this small eatery with a huge following. I will definitely visit here if I am anywhere nearby...

I went here for lunch while I was working in El Reno. Make sure you bring cash! It's cash and checks only, no debit cards. I got the Deluxe cheeseburger with bacon and a half order of fries. The burger was awesome! Very juicy and oniony and the bacon was cooked the way I like it as well. The half order of fries is still way too much for any one person to eat! I recommend getting a 1/4 order. The fries were decent, nothing special. I think next time I'm just going to stick to the burger! Overall, I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it! They also have a drive-thru!

El Reno is the onion burger capital, and rightfully so! Sid's is definitely the most popular, because I think it's been featured on a couple Food Network specials. It's definitely the place to go if you're looking for a cute, old fashioned-style diner. I had the regular fried onion cheeseburger, tator tots and a peanut butter banana shake. It was all great, and the shake was DELICIOUS and worth the splurge for dessert with my lunch. I would say I like Robert's down the road better, BUT Sid's is definitely nicer and cleaner if that is important to you. From what I've heard, both the other El Reno options are small, a bit dingy and smoky. So if you're looking for a good onion burger with a cleaner atmosphere, Sid's is for you. If you're down for the old diner experience, I'd recommend Robert's. Having said that, as far as I know, there are no old-school shakes at Robert's so Sid's definitely has the one-up there!

Anytime I find a Man vs. Food or Triple D location I have to try it. I am glad I did. Great diner atmosphere with excellent service. The fried onion burger was delicious! One basket of fries will feed the entire table. The shake was outstanding as well. If you are in the area it is worth seeking this place out.

I was very excited about coming here. It had been 3 years since my last visit to El Reno for an onion burger. The line was out the building, but it is a very small building. It is nice that the have tables with a shed that provides shade outside and they bring the food to you, but the wait was pretty long. I personally like Johnny'a down the road better (that's the one I went to 3 years ago). My party was dry and lacked flavor. It is almost like they were too busy and were not paying attention to the way the burger was being cooked... I don't know. All the customers seemed satisfied and spoke highly of the place and the quality. I guess that I built my expectations too high and were not met. Also, I had told my friend these were supposed to be one of the top 5 burgers in the country (saw that online) and his expectations were not met either. Tots were really good! That I would highly recommend. I went with half an order and it was enough for two as a side. My wife had a regular cheese burger with onions + lettuce, tomatoes, no pickles, ketchup , mayo and mustard. Hers was better than mine.... But all the extra stuffed rested from the whole fried-onion-burger-experience. I will go back next week to El Reno, but I don't know if I will take my family here or to Johnny's

This place isn't bad. I admit that I do prefer one of the other onion burger places in town, but that is just my opinion. The food here has always been good along with the service.

We found out about this joint on a TV show about the best restaurants in America, on an episode about the top 5 burgers. It definitely lived up to that expectation! We stopped into El Reno to try this because the town was conveniently there at lunch time on our road trip to New Mexico. The building is very small, and there is not much room inside at all...it was all full! We sat outside, which was fine, but it was a little windy. The thing to get here is certainly the onion burger. My mom and dad both got onion burgers. I got a regular one, but it was super tasty because it absorbed all the onion flavor off the grill and was perfectly cooked. (I like onion flavor in things, but would prefer not to have the actual crunch of them.) The burgers were really good. The tater tots we had with them were just alright. I had a milkshake and it was really good (even though it was super thick!). The only real problem was that they got my mom's order wrong...but they corrected it, and didn't charge us for her meal, so that's okay! This place is definitely worth the stop.

Awesome experience hidden in small town Oklahoma! The burgers, the malts, the fries, and even the service was A+ and that's being modest!! If you are there you HAVE to get the double patty hamburger with the fried onions. I got fried jalapeños on mine - they are not for the weak of taste buds. VERY spicy but very tasty as well! If you are within 100 miles of this place you must visit.

Great, wholesome, kind, comforting, caring, and hospitable are what come to mind with this experience. Great people; salt of the earth. I ordered the regular double deluxe with cheese and fried onions, and a side of french fries. The burger was amazing, but the fries were a disappointment. It may have been a fluke, but I am sad it was like this. It didn't ruin my experience a single bit though. I will visit this place again. Cash or check!

After much debate btw Sids or Nics, since both get awesome reviews....... The fried onion burger intrigued me, so I decided Sids was the winner. As instructed by my fellow Yelpers, we tried the burger, coney and a half order of fries. I ordered the regular size while my bf opted for the King Mac daddy onion burger. I was hesitant at first when I saw the HUGE pile of onions they stack on, but trust me, it's awesome! They are smashed in and caramelized down into the burger patty allowing the flavor party to begin! I am glad that we ordered a half order of the fries bc I would hate to see a full order! Perfectly crispy. Wish they had some Tony's Seasoning to sprinkle on :) As for the coney....good chili sauce but I'm not a fan of the sweet relish they dump on top. It wasn't that it was gross, I just don't like sweet relish, I prefer dill. If you are not sure if you'll like it, get it on the side to test out first; I wish I would have. Other than that, good service. We sat up at the bar, the cook was super friendly. Super small place, they also have some outdoor tables too and a drive thru. Def recommend.

If you're looking for a good ole cheeseburger with love cooked between every bun, look no further. Just make sure you bring cash or check! I only had $10 on me and the waitress was so kind, she totaled up what it would be to share a meal for my girlfriend and I and even though there would only be $.30 left of a tip for her she told me not to worry about it and wouldn't want us to go without supper. Do not miss a chance to check out this gem!

Not sure I see the draw. Burgers were fried and too well done. The fries were soggy. The onion rings were better. Too crowded, too small to seat everyone. Only takes cash or check.

Really delicious American food! And some of the best fries you could ever eat! A true piece of America that is worth the visit. If you ever find your self in L Reno Oklahoma I would recommend a stop by SIDS diner! Marty the owner is super friendly and their waitressing staff is amazing!

I've been wanting to hit as many Man vs. Food places that I can. Sid's Diner in El Reno, OK was my latest stop. What I didn't realize going in is how small the diner actually is. It seem like it could hold more than 25 people at one time. They don't take credit cards. Cash or check only. Luckily, I had $7 on me and that was enough to get one of their famous onion burgers, and I now know why they're famous. Absolutely delicious! The way the onions cook into the meat gives it a unique flavor. The wait staff was very friendly, and the burger came out quick. If I'm ever back in El Reno, I know where I'm stopping for lunch!

I may not be an appreciator of the onion burger. I like onions. I like burgers. I like onions on my burgers. I've been to this establishment once before and split a burger with a friend. It was satisfactory. It's a tiny joint with very little seating. Be prepared to cram in next to each other. On my most recent visit I sat at the lunch counter like a pro. I placed my order, a regular onion burger no cheese with lettuce and tomato. I was surprised to find that I was charged $.50 for the lettuce and tomato. It wasn't a big deal, just a surprise. I was lucky I had enough cash on me. They don't take cards. Once again, the burger was satisfactory. Nothing to write home about. I sat next to a cowboy. So, that was probably the highlight. What was nice is that I ordered and consumed my burger in 15 minutes. So, a great alternative to fast food. Will I go out of my way for an onion burger here? Probably not. If I'm in the area and only have 15 minutes? For sure! Though, I may want to sample the other onion burger joints El Reno has to offer. I also learned they serve breakfast. So, that's pretty cool.

I've been wanting to make the journey to El Reno for a while to sample one of the famous Onion Burgers. Of course, Sid's was the place to go. My wife and I were traveling back to Tulsa and made a detour through El Reno to see if the stories were true. Needless to say they are. The burger is really good. We both ordered the double, with cheese, and made sure not to spoil it by adding lettuce and tomato. Just pickles and the legendary onions. We also decided we would split an order of fries and a strawberry shake. The fries were the first to arrive and we quickly realized we should have brought several more folks along with us to help eat all of them, but we managed to make a pretty good dent in the pile of fries. The strawberry shake was mighty tasty and it is great that they bring the mixing cup with the extra stuff to refill the glass. After eating all of those fries we needed a few extra calories to boost our energy level to tackle the burgers that arrived at the table. The atmosphere in Sid's is great with all of the pictures embedded in the table tops and everywhere on the walls. The folks working there were great. Is Sid's the best burger I have ever eaten? No, but it is the best (and only) Onion Burger I have every eaten. Would I make a special trip from Tulsa to El Reno to have another? Probably not, but I would definitely make a detour again to have another one. If you are traveling down Route 66, or somewhere close, it is well worth a stop at Sid's for one of their Onion Burgers, fries and a shake.

My fiancé and I absolutely just loved Sid's. The food was fresh, super inexpensive and really delicious. We felt at home with them and the atmosphere was true diner. If you're in the mood for good grub and even better company, stop here!

Good sized hamburgers served the way they used to be. Friendly staff, and so much history on the walls and tables you'll never read it all. A nice gem to find while on a road trip.

I saw this place on Man vs. Food, and on my move from San Diego to Nashville, I wanted to make sure I tried it out. I wasn't disappointed. The onions grilled in the burger patties really change the flavor of the whole burger, and the amount of food that you get for the price you pay is ridiculous: it's such a cheap meal!

Between the Roadfood, Yelp and Tripadvisor recs, we chose Sid's. What a nice place to stop along Route 66. It serves very good onion burgers and coney dogs. Shared a half order of French fries per others tip. We had a satisfying lunch and will make this a stop on our cross country trips. Marty, the owner, was genuinely pleased that we stopped at his establishment.

I've been meaning to get out to Sid's Diner for a while now. Today was a perfect day to hit the road so I saddled up the Harley and headed for El Reno. Sid's is an instant hit for what it is; a small, old-timey diner that rates high for nostalgia value. I took a seat at the counter, where you are literally within six feet of the hallowed flat top where the cooking goes on. Lots of old photos adorn the walls and the counter top, which gives you something to look at while waiting. And what does one come to Sid's for? Onion Burgers! So I ordered a 1/4 pound onion cheeseburger with rings and root beer. The rings came first, and were a slight disappointment because they were of the frozen variety and not home made. But they were good for what they were and went well with my burger which came soon after. The burger itself is very good. The caramelized onions cooked into the burger are really tasty and make all the difference. My whole meal came to $9.50 and it was well worth it. Be sure to bring cash - they don't take plastic. I really love places like Sid's. Good food, great atmosphere and nostalgia all rolled into a great little diner. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

This is what passes for good hamburgers in beef country? I got plenty of food, but I'm not sure if I was charged for a refill, and the waitress couldn't understand that I didn't want ice, or when I asked the difference between a small and a large. (She didn't even tell me there were different sizes of drinks, I had to figure it out on my own.) The burger was large and tasteless, could have been made of chargrilled cardboard. There were about five potatoes' worth of fries heaped in there, they were reasonably tasty but there was no potato inside the fry because they were cut so thin and fried so deeply. I really do not understand why this place gets rated highly unless people never leave El Reno.

Best damn Onion Burger in the world. Any copycats just need to quit serving onion burgers. Adam from Man Vs. Food even made a trip here to speak with Marty, the owner. Fries are the best!

Pretty awesome burger shack. I wouldn't come here for the comfortable seating or the extensive menu, because you're not going to find 'em. However, the infamous onion-burger is worth the trip. I was impressed with how little grease made it into these patties. The wait staff was pretty young and there was some confusion at various steps during the order, but the food and the friendliness was more than enough to compensate. Yum!

Great onion burger and excellent fries! Don't come here for the atmosphere unless you're looking for the true-blue lunch counter, "burger joint." I sat at the counter and enjoyed watching them make the burgers, or should I say smash the burgers and onions! I had only the half order of fries and it was plenty for me, in fact I couldn't finish it; it could serve two people easily. Also had a milk shake which was delicious and served the old fashioned way; with the extra in the steel mixing cup! Boy it's lunch time now and if I lived anywhere near Sid's, I'd be there for lunch today!

We eat at Sid's weekly. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is hometown with lots of local history. The tables and countertop have pictures of local people and places over many years. The walls also have pictures and newspaper clippings along with a map filled with tacks showing where visitors live. We like to sit at the counter right in front of the grill. They've recently added a large covered outdoor space with tables. The menu is on the wall but they also have regular menus to look at. You can get about any thing for breakfast cooked the way you like it. Lunch and dinner the usuals are onion friend burgers and coneys. On a diet I order a deluxe burger with fried onions, no bun. They give you fresh slices of tomoates and lots of lettuce. Coneys are popular (the slaw is homemade and has secret ingredients). We always get Freedom fries or tator tots. The old fashioned milk shakes/malts are a must have! We like chocolate/banana, sometimes chocolate/peanut butter. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Glad we live so close. It's neat to see the out of towners experience Sid's and the food for the first time.
